Location: 316 South Main Street, Woonsocket RI

Project: Adaptive Re-Use of 1937 State Armory

This armory is located in Woonsocket, RI on South Main Street, easily accessible by public transportation, and surrounded by a high density but low in-come residential area. Originally created as a civic structure to serve the community, this building has stood abandoned since the beginning of the 1970’s. This project is an attempt to reintroduce the armory in its social standing through a proposed program change to a youth center that could help convince the local youth to stay in Woonsocket as well as help with lowering education levels with tutoring and recreational activities after school.
