Location: 2 College Street, Providence, RI
Project: Creative Learning Environment
Guided through the aspect of comfort, this project explores the elements that compromise a creative learning environment. Taking a look at what promotes creativity with in the harmonious balance of the physical and psychological atmospheres that in turn produce comfort. The concept was translated into the design of the “cocoon” that allowed for a student to feel the security and envelopment of its natural counter-part while still being conducive towards active learning with abstracted “slices” of a cocoon unit.
Starting from the original seclusion of a “cocoon”, the unit is segmented to allow for physical attributes such as light and ventilation to come through.
