Elena Tepavac was born and raised in Miami, Florida and carries both an Honors Bachelor of Science in Biodiversity & Conservation from the University of Toronto as well as a Masters of Design in Interior Studies from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). During the summer before her final year at RISD, she received a research grant to travel and study re-used and adapted World War II bunkers in Germany, which would eventually inform her thesis project regarding “RTS”, the Radio Television of Serbia in Belgrade. She has a passion for storytelling manifesting in various mediums, most exemplified in her thesis that deals with the 1999 bombing of RTS and navigating the complex narrative of memory, suffering, blame and political regime. She currently works freelance for various clientele, sharpening her technical skills in the interior design realm.
